Hello and welcome to EduMate NYC!
We’re so excited to have you involved with our program this fall. Before your first tutoring session, we want to be clear about what you can expect from EduMate NYC and your tutor this semester.

Your tutor can meet with your student for an hour each week. We cannot guarantee any more time or an additional tutor. Our tutors are volunteering their time and completing college coursework and/or jobs, so please be patient and understanding of their busy schedules.
Tutoring sessions should be focused on assigned work your student has from their school. Our tutors are not teachers and cannot be expected to create their own lesson plans for your student or teach them a new concept completely from scratch.
EduMate NYC is a completely virtual program, with no in-person meetings permitted under any circumstances. This rule will not change even if New York City eases its COVID-19 restrictions.
All of our tutors are volunteer students and cannot accept any compensation, including money, gift cards, etc. for their sessions. A nice text or email is the perfect thank you!
